Robert L. Selvers is a partner of the firm focusing on complex commercial and securities litigation. He has substantial experience representing corporate and individual clients in State and Federal Court in matters involving complex commercial disputes, real estate and construction litigation, shareholder disputes, securities matters, class action defense, ERISA litigation and Consumer Fraud Act litigation. In addition, Robert represents clients before the Tax Court and County Boards of Taxation on various commercial and residential matters. Robert is skilled in all aspects of litigation, and has successfully tried matters to judgment.

Robert also represents individuals and entities involved in investigations before the Securities & Exchange Commission, and defends clients in S.E.C. civil enforcement actions. In a securities class action, he successfully defended a founder and former chief executive officer of a Fortune 500 company in one of the largest back-dating stock options cases. 

 

Robert is a 1999 graduate of Penn State University and 2002 graduate of Seton Hall University School of Law. While attending Seton Hall University School of Law on a Dean’s Merit Scholarship, Robert was a member of its Civil Litigation Clinic and was a published member of the Seton Hall Constitutional Law Journal. Following his graduation with honors, Robert was inducted by Seton Hall University School of Law into the Order of the Coif and served as a judicial clerk for the Hon. Ronald J. Hedges, U.S. Magistrate Judge, District of New Jersey, now retired.

Robert is admitted to practice in New Jersey and New York, including the United States District Court, Eastern District of New York, Southern District of New York, and United States District Court, District of New Jersey.
